We are pleased to introduce patent family tree visualization on AutoPatent. When you search for a patent, the family tree view shows how the same invention has been filed across multiple jurisdictions — including priority applications, divisionals, continuations, and national-phase entries. Each node in the tree represents a filing in a specific patent office, and connecting lines show priority claims and continuation relationships. You can click any node to see the full bibliographic record and search status. This feature helps inventors and patent professionals track the global footprint of a technology, identify which family members are still pending, and spot gaps in international coverage. The family tree is generated from priority-claim data in official patent records where available, and is clearly labeled as AI-assisted analysis when derived from semantic matching. We hope this visualization makes it easier to plan international filing strategies and understand the relationships between related patents.
