Keep a Jurisdiction-Aware Prior-Art Reading Log
2026-07-20
← Back to BlogPrior-art reading drifts when the office and the date you actually opened sit only in memory. After each AutoPatent session, keep a one-page reading log. For every document you opened, record the jurisdiction or patent office, the publication or filing date in YYYY-MM-DD form, one sentence on why it matters to your features, and one open question you still need counsel or a co-inventor to resolve. Attach the log to the search workspace rather than rewriting the story in email. The log is research organization, not legal advice: it does not decide novelty, claim scope, or freedom to operate. It does make the next handoff cheaper because the same evidence and assumptions travel together.
